Website In Development
Our vision is that 'every asylum seeker and refugee in Bradford will live a safe and happy life with
access to the support that they need to achieve their full contribution as part of our community.'
Our mission is to help every asylum seeker and refugee to have a better life by…
- Providing the best care, advice and support that we can with basic needs, such as housing advice
- Encouraging and supporting integration into the local community
- Increasing the understanding and awareness of the contribution that asylum seekers and refugees can make to our society
- Working in partnership with asylum seekers and refugees and others with similar aims, including local authorities and voluntary organisations
About Us
We support children between the ages of 5 and 13 and their families with one to one advice, befriending and by developing a programme of cultural activities to help them to grow in confidence in their new environment.
We work with schools on a 'myth-busting' programme to help local children to better understand what it feels like to be an asylum seeker or refugee.
We have a volunteer and befriending programme and actively encourage refugees to support new arrivals and share their experiences of the new life they have found.
Our teams work towards improving the plight of refugees and asylum seekers that come to Bradford by advising them on a wide number of issues that affect their lives, e.g. housing, health and immigration, and where necessary, signposting people to specialist advisors.
